SUMMARY:

The authors here report superior selectivity and bandwidth characteristics using fractal-metamaterial filters, on a variety of fractal shapes. They note examples with a selectivity increase of 77% and bandwidth increase of 47 % for example.
 
The authors note the fractal filter results are superior to those achieved with split ring resonators or conventional analog filter design.
